AVTEC offers a range of courses that enable students to learn at a distance yet stay connected with AVTEC, instructors and fellow classmates.  Some online courses offer real-time, interactive education that builds an online community.  Some classes may be an independent study class that is guided and mentored by a highly qualified AVTEC instructor. Using well designed course materials prepared by a knowledgeable instructor, you can study when and where it’s most convenient for you!

AVTEC's Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) is an exciting online digital literacy certification program that can be completed from your home or office.

The IC3 digital literacy track is made up of three modules:
Computing Fundamentals
Key Applications
Living Online

By completing all three modules and passing a certification exam at the end of each module, you can earn the Internet and Computing Core Certification.

HELP Test Prep for Alaska Paraprofessionals

Online, Guided Learning, Independent Study [Dates & Registration]

Test Prep courses, Written Expression and Reading Test Prep, are online courses to be completed independently yet guided and mentored without class meeting times.

 

Note: Qualified individuals can receive financial aid to support their attendance to this
       training. Employed paraprofessionals should contact their local school districts and
       individuals not currently employed in a paraprofessional position should contact the
       Alaska Job Center in their region.

Introduction to the Moodle Learning Management System: Moodle Boot Camp!

MoodleFOUR LIVE SESSIONS: online via Elluminate. ANY TIME WORK: Course creation tasks, prerecorded module creation demos, assignments and activities online via AVTEConline.org (built with Moodle).

 

Are you ready to work hard and become a proficient, independent Moodle user and course developer in a very short time? If so, you should sign up for these intense two-weeks of Moodle Training. No previous experience with Moodle required! This training will assist participants in familiarizing themselves with the online Moodle Learning Management system. The majority of this training will focus on how to effectively integrate the assessment tools into instruction and provide participants an opportunity to begin construction of a course on AVTEConline.org or their own Moodle server and receive feedback and advice from experienced “Moodlers."

 

Instruction will be delivered synchronously via Elluminate (Web-based conference tool) and students will participate in asynchronous activities and projects on our Moodle site, AVTEConline.org. They will also view prerecorded instruction training each week and participate in online office hours when needed.
