AVTEC...Great careers for Alaska's future!
Alaska Vocational Technical Center

Over the past 30 years, AVTEC has expanded to encompass three separate campuses within the City of Seward, each with its own distinctive facilities, classes, training, and activities. Particularly in recent years, AVTEC has acquired more buildings and land to meet the employment and training needs of Alaska’s business and industrial community.

These three campuses’ buildings and facilities vary from newer institutional-quality structures to temporary storage sheds, with many sites in urgent need of a wide range of improvements—from demolition to mechanical and electrical upgrades to handicap accessibility. Our facilities’ capacity simply has not kept pace with the growth of our training curriculum and our student body. We do not wish to risk or compromise the quality of our students’ education, the safety of all who use AVTEC facilities, or AVTEC’s compliance with all applicable codes, laws, and regulations.
