Bringing digital literacy training directly to your desktop!
With
travel costs rising each year, it is becoming cost prohibitive for many
employers to send an employee to a location to receive computer
training. Employers are continually looking for new
cost-effective
ways to train
workers so they are
more productive
using computer
hardware, software, networks, and the Internet.
AVTEC’s Business & Office Technology
Department is providing industry specific digital literacy
training to business and industry around the state—without an
organization's employees ever leaving their workplace!
Why get
IC3 Certified?
You've spent time and
money on training and education for a good reason—to move ahead. So how
do you prove to others that you have the necessary computing knowledge
and skills to be successful? The answer is IC3
certification. IC3 certification will immediately identify
you as someone who has what it takes to succeed on the job.
What do you
mean digital literacy and what is IC3?
Digital literacy is vital to the success
of individuals in today’s workplace. Exposure to computers does not
equal understanding. The
Internet and
Computing Core Certification (IC³)
program is a
global,
validated, standards-based training and certification program for
critical computing and Internet knowledge and skills. IC3
ensures you have the knowledge and skills required for effective use of
computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet. IC3
is your starting place to advancement in employment, education, or other
certification programs.

Taught by
Authorized IC3 Program Instructors
IC³ Authorized Program Instructors will deliver the three classes
utilizing advanced VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) in live online
sessions right to your office, school or home computer. Without you
walking out your door! This training prepares you to pass and earn the
Internet and Computing Core Certification or IC³ industry certification.
What do I need to train online?
All that is needed to
train online is a computer with an Internet connection and a microphone
and speakers (a headset with a microphone works best). Training can be
conducted using Windows, Mac, or Solaris computers. Participants meet in
live sessions with authorized IC3 instructors. Sessions are
also recorded and can be reviewed later by an employer or employee.
